Over 250,000 grants have been awarded from The National Lottery, ranging from Olympic athletes and charities, through to schools and underprivileged groups.

News - Sep 2007 - Lottery fund awards grant to National Youth Theatre

The National Lottery continues with its donations to Good Causes by recently presenting the National Youth Theatre with a grant of £250,000. For over fifty years The National Youth Theatre has provided young people with the opportunity to expand and broaden their theatrical horizons, and can boast former students including the Little Britain duo Matt Lucas and David Walliams, as well as the current James Bond - Daniel Craig.

Velodrome on track for world-beating future
Sports England has awarded Manchester City Council £270,000 of National Lottery funding to replace the track at the Manchester Velodrome. The track has worn out seven years ahead of schedule and a new track is needed so cyclists can commence training programmes for the Beijing Olympics in 2008. Plans for the National Centre for Cycling also include accommodation facilities for athletes and an indoor BMX centre.
